Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) is an annual event hosted by the Kansas City Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE-KC) and sponsored by many local businesses. The purpose is for young women to get a taste of what an engineer is and what they do. Annually high school students are invited for a day of activities that are fun as well as informative. In 2016 we introduced a new event, IGED Jr. to invite girls in grades 6-8 for a day of activities to learn about engineering.
